We've invited Marlene Vinha, beauty expert from the Pretty Exquisite blog, to elect her erborian favourites! Let's meet the trio she choose, on her own words!
"The Eau ginseng energizing lotion is a relatively recent product that was added to GINSENG range and whose properties were seized by erborian as fountain of youth by its rejuvenating, moisturizing and smoothing capacity. The mini dose of 30 ml gave to approximately twenty applications and I liked it so much, that I can say that this girl is up to the previous version, that was discontinued but much appreciated. (read about the mist of erborian in this post).
The purpose of this lotion is to promote hydration levels and should be used after cleansing the skin and as a first step of treatment. As I prefer the mist version, because I find it more easy and effective to use, I pured the liquid into a mini bottle so that I could use it also throughout the day, as a moisturizing and energizing shot. Works beautifully, although I think its predecessor would be a little richer, I liked a lot of this.
Another tip for using it is soaking paper masks in this lotion and leave it a few minutes in the face. Is fantastic, particularly if it's left in the fridge. "
"Let's start with the presentation of a complex name - Dongbaek camellia essence lipid rich serum - but whose composition is relatively simple. Basically, we've got 73% of Camellia oil, that is associated with four more -Linseed oils, Grapeseed, coconut and argan oil. A strong team, that promises to protect the cutaneous barrier and fight aging.
Out of curiosity, did you know, the Camellia (Tsubaki, Dongbaek in Korean or in Japanese) blooms in winter and fall, when you're at the peak of her beauty. And what beautiful is. Part of the ritual of Korean beauty in which the erborian is based, and even provides extensive benefits to the skin, as it has moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-age properties.
In terms of aplication, the brand advises:
Morning: use as a serum and put 3 drops in my hand. Warm up and apply before the daily treatment.
Night: use as a balm, 1 mixing the 2 drops in the usual cream, the nourishing balm.
Vacation: after exposure to the Sun, apply a thin layer of Camellia oil for tissue repair and soothe the redness.
Hair: ideal for repair and soften the hair ends.
Dry skin: use as restorative treatment intensive, putting 5 to 6 drops on hand, warm up and apply all over the face.
And how I integrated this product in my routine? Well, I'm not one to use oils daily. I got my séruns I use faithfully every day but, when at night I look at my skin and diagnosis it more tired or dehydrated, I usually resort to products that allow a self massage, in order to ease tensions and provide a moment of relaxation, which sometimes is so needed. However, as I wanted to see the effect of this dongbaek camellia essence, I put aside my night and séruns and I used it daily for the last two weeks. Result? Rosacea's much more calmer, the skin moisturized and luminous, which is different from greasy!
The essence is, in terms of presentation, is stored in a beautiful and elegant opaque bottle, containing a pipette, which allows to dose the product. The same (other than being just a oil, is quite close to him) is unlike any other I have used so far, since in fact, when falls in your hand, the density resembles water.
I feel it's nutritious and quiet yet to the skin and let the beautiful and luminous. I prefer to apply them at night and this was used for an interleaved manner, applied directly on the skin or, sometimes mixed with the cream. Can also be used in your hair!
Allows the self-massage, as it turns everything more slippery, but with the advantage of being very light and quickly absorbed. In addition, I analyzed the ingredients and we have a selection of good things, that neither the presence of perfume, already towards the end of the list, can hurt.
As you know, there are 1001 options of oils and this can be an interesting option for those with normal to dry skins (oily skins should avoid it) to be used in a more sporadic, or as a cure and more intensive. Or, as advises the brand, "after we listen to our skin" and whenever she asks. "
"I've been tetsing one of the latest erborian novelties, the 0.09 touch au ginseng skin perfecting compact powder, which is a compact face enhancer, enriched with Ginseng and which has the ability to unify and mattify the skin. I was a bit reticent by the "matte" thing, since it is rarely texture which I would appreciate, but then I remembered what I went through last year with the heat and how to opt for some dryers textures on my skin, was quite appreciated this time of year. In addition to this, I've been trying to reapply sunscreen frequently because of the dark spots, but when I have ,make up on, I cannot do it without making a big mess. So, in turn, I use the Bioderma face mist or, now, this product since the great advantage, besides mattifying the T zone, is to have SPF 20. The fact that is compact, is ideal to take it with you and use it at any time.
So, how to use it? I've tested in two ways. First, I like both the soft texture, so I decided to make the skin all over with him and in fact, the guy is powerful. You can see in the images below that covers most of the redness and spotting. However, I found it too heavy and opaque to use on the whole face. [Who have oily skin, I think is going to love it.] Then I use as I thought that results in my case, which is to make the skin with the usual products (foundation and concealer) and then go with this produtct to make touch ups throughout the day in the T-zone and spotting the dark spots that are uncovered, in the meanwhile. And it worked amazingly well!
To sum up: we have a very compact cover cream, that gives the "porcelain skin" effect, with SPF, very practical and beautiful, to bring out with you, any time. It is forbidden to use on dry or dehydrated skins and has the disadvantage of coming only in one tone, that besides being universal, will never suit everyones skin tone. In my case, by looking at the color, I got the feeling that could suit but I was sure after applied, of course, and I think it is a tone that will goes pretty well with light medium or neutral skins, with moderately yellow. {For reference, and who already know the bb cream version of the brand, the light version, I think it's very equivalent. When it comes to foundations, I use, Chanel 20, Dior 20, Armani4.} "
