Klorane compromise

2 min read

Created over 50 years ago by a botanical pharmacist, Klorane, worthy heir to the history of its visionary creator, has always studied the plant world to reveal the healing intelligence of plants. In 1966, KLORANE IS BORN OF NATURE. A pioneer in natural dermocosmetics, it reveals the caring intelligence of plants: one plant = one statement.

Today, this pharmaceutical and botanical heritage is more important than ever to meet the growing demand for care that is undoubtedly natural, but also safe, ecological and easy to use in everyday life.

Starting in 2021, Klorane, a SPECIALIST, NATURAL and ECO-CONCEBATED DERMOCOSMETIC brand, revisits its entire range of skin care products to achieve:

Always more naturality... without compromising on safety or sensoriality,

Always more innovation... for a minimum environmental impact, and always keeping at the heart of its formulas the caring intelligence of its plants, grown on its 200 hectares of land through the process of organic agriculture or by respecting ecosystems

Klorane

Starting in 2021:

With the formulation and clinical and toxicology study teams, we have overcome the challenge with formulas that contain up to 98% ingredients of natural origin, without compromising efficacy and tolerability! More natural formulas, but equally safe, sensorial and effective, with a reduced environmental impact.

FOR KLORANE, TRUE NATURALNESS CANNOT BE OBTAINED WITHOUT ALL OUR OTHER REQUIREMENTS, CLOSELY LINKED TO OUR SCIENTIFIC EXPERTISE.

To go further in green innovation, we began by accelerating the organic production method of Klorane's flagship plants: flax, nettle, peony, cornflower, cupuaçu. Some species then began to be grown directly on our 200 hectares of "organic farming" certified land in the Tarn area.

WE HAVE ALSO MANAGED TO ENSURE THAT 100% OF OUR CROPS RESPECT THE LIFE CYCLE OF THE PLANT.

Klorane has also developed a particular expertise in the valorization of food by-products: pomegranate peel, cupuaçu seeds, mango kernel. The producers cultivate the resource for its edible part - the fruit or its pulp - and we valorize what should be thrown away.  This kind of circular economy has a real environmental impact.

Packaging represents more than 40% of the environmental impact of the finished product, before use. To reduce our environmental impact as much as possible, it was essential to improve the ecological footprint of our packaging, while ensuring the key role: product protection and ease of use for consumers.

IN 2021, KLORANE WILL GO MUCH FURTHER...

NUMBERS THAT COUNT!

  • 55 TONS AND CARTRIDGES by eliminating shampoo boxes
  • -48% OF PLASTIC* with thinner bottles for identical contents
  • Goal - 0 WASTE with solid or powder formulas
  • 0% OF VIRGIN PLASTIC IN 100% OF THE BOTTLES used for shampoos.

*vs. the 150 ml KLORANE plastic jar, previously on the market

All these actions supported by the KLORANE BOTANICAL FOUNDATION created in 1994 to PRESERVE THE VEGETABLE PATRIMONY.
