Nanotechnology| a sesderma's expertise

The technology that everyone talks about, and that allows you to go further when treating your skin!

The skin is our first clothing.

It's natural barrier function allows us to be protected from the cold, microorganisms, and all the aggressions that our bodies may be exposed to. However, this same barrier is also an obstacle to the absorption of cosmetics at it's surface, limiting significantly the action of these products.

Nanotechnology may be applied to cosmetics, but also medicine, and it arose in order to circumvent this (good) obstacle, preserving the skin's health and developing more effective product, that also have a lesser potencial to be sensitizing.

What is nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is a term used for handling any material on the atomic and molecular scale, in order to produce new structures, devices and materials with these dimensions.

These particles are invisible to the human eye, and they can be present in cosmetics containing varied active ingredients.

Also in cosmetics, nanossomes are one of the most important facets of nanotechnology. They are liposomes with extremely small dimensions, and consist of capsules that are capable of penetrating the skin and carry encapsulated active ingredients inside that otherwise would not be absorbed.

What are the benefits of encapsulating ingredients in nanossomes?

Besides blending in perfectly and passing through the epidermis cell's membranes, something that would hardly occur with non-encapsulated ingredients, nanossomes have many other advantages:

  • They are very well tolerated by the skin, since the liposomes's capsule is very similar to the cell's membranes:
  • Lipossomes are able to transport the active ingredients from the formula to the deeper skin layers, allowing those ingredients to be used in lower concentrations in order to be effective, which also brings a greater tolerance to products containing liposomes;
  • They are able to carry active ingredients with different solubilities, which in many cases would never surpass the epidermis' upper layers;
  • Lipossomes allow a controlled and more prolonged release of the active ingredients, which prolongs it's effectiveness for longer and also promotes a greater tolerance to active ingredients that otherwise would be sensitizing;

For all these reasons, Sesderma keeps betting on lipossomed active ingredients over the years, thus developing high efficiency skincare thay can be used safely even by the most sensitive skins.

Why seruns?

Unlike moisturizing creams, whose goal is to retain water on skin's surface, the main function from a serum is to provide active ingredients for the treatment of the deeper layers of the skin. By being more concentrated and having a greater ability to penetrate into skin, seruns are the ideal products to carry liposomes containing different active ingredients.

At Sesderma, you can find seruns with antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-wrinkle and anti-dark spots ingredients, among many others.

C-Vit: a bestseller range

Vitamin C doens't need any introduction.

Is one of the most versatile ingredients found in cosmetics and it's used as an antioxidant, collagen synthesis promoter, and depigmenting agent.

In it's pure form, this vitamin degrades itself easily when contact with water and air, making it necessary to carry this ingredient in special ways.

Having this in mind, Sesderma chose to use the 3-O-Ethyl-L-ascorbic acid, that is more stable, and they also incorporated this molecule inside nanossomes ; thus preserving Vitamin's C integrity, allowing a deeper penetration, and providing a controlled release from this ingredient.

All these factors make the C-Vit range especially effective, and suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive ones.

Factor G Renew: awaken your skin's collagen!

This innovative range promises to revolutionize the treatment of the signs of aging, stimulating your skin like no other product does!

Based on genocosmetic, Factor G Renew is an anti-aging skincare range that aims to act directly on the cell's nucleus, stimulating their activity and multiplication as a way to rejuvenate the skin.

The main active ingredients are growth factors that are active on human cells, but are extracted from Nicotiana benthamiana,  having a 100% vegetable origin. In order to reach their target and ensure the formula's stability and effectiveness, these growth factors are encapsulated in nanossomes.

The Factor G Renew is especially directed to everyone who privileges high technology skincare and wants to fight the first signs of aging, such as wrinkles, loss of firmness and elasticity, hyperpigmentation or dehydration.

In addition to these ranges, Sesderma also has many products whose effectiveness is due to the use of nanotechnology:

  • Azelac RU

A product for the treatment of dark spots that is well tolerated by the skin, and whose ingredients are carried by nanossomes. This serum has proven efficacy in the treatment of melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and it can be used safely by all phototypes.

  • Hyal Hidraderm

A body moisturizer with hyaluronic acid in 3 different molecular weights, whose efficacy is due to the incorporation this active ingredients in lipossomes, and some of them nanossomes. This products is used for an intense hydration of the skin in various pathologies, such as atopic dermatitis, ichthyosis, senile xerosis, rash, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris, xerosis caused by retinoids and ultraviolet therapy (PUVA).
