ARBUTIN
Arbutin (also known as alpha arbutin), it’s a molecule extracted from the bearberry plant. The most common use is for preventing the formation of melanin in the skin. Derived from natural sources, this ingredient acts as a skin-brightener, blocking tyrosinase (an enzyme that boosts the production of melanin on the skin). To put it simple, arbutin keeps dark spots away, resulting in a more even-looking skin texture and tone. Generally speaking, arbutin is safe for all skin types, thanks to its gentle nature. These characteristics make arbutin a good alternative to other skin brighteners such as vitamin C.
